  • It’s a permanent position but we accept freelancer too
📍  Remote (CET +/- 2h) or at the office (Paris 10)

We have a flexible remote policy (aka. whatever works for you is okay). We just follow a few rules 👇

  • We have offices in Paris 10 (France) & Medellín (Colombia). You can be permanently based there if you wish, but it’s completely optional.
  • You can work from home, whatever your country* We just ask you to be on the same timezone than your department (+/- 2H) for your permanent location (designers → Medellín timezone, developers → Paris). But you can work from elsewhere from time to time, unless your job is impacted.
  • You can travel to the HQs anytime you want or invest in your home setup. We got you covered with a confortable allowance.
💰  30k-35k€ + meaningful equity, ✓ Top 25% earner verified by Figures
  • Equity: we offer meaningful stocks (BSPCE) to all our employees. No promise, but this could clearly exceed your salary income giving it the time.
  • Salary: 30 to 35k€ depending on your impact. You will be in the top 25% earner of the market despite joining such an early company. Note: all our salaries are based on Paris, wherever you live & verified through because we pledge for a fair & transparent market.

Your role

We are looking for a talented Social Media Manager to join our team & change the way gen-z communicate online.

  • You’ll be responsible of the usual boring stuff: suggest content ideas, maintain a schedule, make content for Tiktok & Instagram, manage the comments, create relationship with the community
  • But more importantly you will have an impact on the brand’s tone, try & explore many new formats/channels, introduce new acquisition techniques, become the voice of uKu & impact the product itself by gathering users’ insights
  • Among your first missions will be unique challenges like creating the first videos to get +500k views, organise the department (you will be the first person in the marketing team), build our nascent Discord community, and do a bit of everything (= best school to become an entrepreneur in the future).

Who are we looking for?

We don’t care about your degrees or location, we are looking for the best people around here. Here is a few things we will seek:

  • Funny & sassy copywriting, your ability to speak with gen-z is super important
  • Proficient with Tiktok & Instagram: best practices, captions, hashtags, comments, moderation
  • Data-driven social media calendar: follow the right metrics, plan accordingly, learn & improve
  • Leverage content to build a community, know how to enable champions in the community
  • Able to produce content (videos, pictures) based on existing assets and to collaborate efficiently with a stellar design team
  • English & French fluency, written and spoken
  • Bonus points
    • Experience w/ Discord: animation, roles, channels moderations, giveaway & contests
    • Experience w/ Snap
    • Experience working with Product teams & using the community to gather feedbacks
    • Experience giving support to users & helping them when they have issues with an app
    • Used to work with influencers
    • Can help to build a brand voice
    • Speak spanish or any other language

  • Priority: we spend most our time on Tiktok. That’s where most gen-z people spend time nowadays + we love the tone.
  • With your help: we would like to invest more on Instagram & Discord.
  • Maybe?: let’s explore new ones like Reddit, Snap or Youtube 🤷‍♂️. You tell us ;)

👯‍♂️  What is the current size of the marketing team?

Officially... 0 people right now but we are seeking our first teammate 👇

  • Interim is mainly handled by Thomas (CEO) & Paul (Design)
  • Marketing will have the support of the design team. We have plenty of content already available in a dropbox (you will love it) but you can also work with them to produce content (if planned in advance).

🐤  What stage is the community at?
  • We posted a few videos on Tiktok during the summer 21 and were amazed by the engagement
  • We started posting more regularly, whenever possible, while building the product, raising money and hiring the first team members
  • Since January we collaborated with freelancers to have more regularity
  • We now need you to step up our game!

👶  What stage is the product at?
  • We assembled in July 21 to try a few ideas, prototype and learn during the summer.
  • We pitched our vision to some of the best investors in the world and raised our pre-seed in Oct-Nov 21.
  • Since Nov 21, we are busy building the alpha of uKu and testing w/ users on a weekly basis. We are now a team of +9 passionate builders distributed between Colombia & France. Adding hundreds of users on the waitlist every month (👋 Tiktok)

🕵️  How do we interview people?

We are huge believers that these processes work both ways. We organise several steps for you to get to know us, the way we work, our values and expectations. And the other way around. Come as you are, with your questions and challenges. This process may vary a little depending on the specifics of a job...

  • Deep dive interview - 50 min call to deep dive on your role, past experiences, personality, wishes, and what resonates with you in our product. Usually happen with the future manager & 1 other team member.
  • Technical interview - 50 min call to deep dive on the test you received and completed. Reminder: there is no perfect answer, we are mainly interested in how you think & how proactive you are.
  • Founders call - 15 to 30 min call to meet the founders, get to know more about the vision and culture.

How long does it take?

  • After receiving you application, we will take the time to review it and get back to you within 5 working days.
  • Between the first call and last step, we usually take up to 2 weeks. It may take longer depending on external factors but we will always try to say it upfront. As a matter a fact, we are a startup, time is our enemy and we try to move fast.
